Clinical Trial Center

Introduction

The clinical trial center (CTC) of National Cheng Kung University Hospital (NCKUH) is an academic clinical research platform established in 2000. Being an important platform supporting clinical studies on novel therapeutic products and medical devices, the CTC of NCKUH is equipped with dedicated research facilities, including Phase 1 Unit, Clinical Research Ward, Investigational Pharmacy, CAP-accredited Hospital Laboratory, Clinical Specimen Processing Room, and GCP-standard space for study document archiving. All the facilities are maintained properly and all the equipment has annual calibration and certification. The clinical team of our CTC consists of experienced principal investigators in different fields and highly trained study coordinators certified by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP). The administrative divisions, including the Site Management Office (SMO) and Academic Research Office (ARO), provide supports for study feasibility assessment, project management, research ethics affairs, and professional training. Since its establishment, the CTC of NCKUH has already conducted more than 700 industry-sponsored and investigator-initiated clinical studies.
